Basil Onsia (°2004, Brussel) is masterstudent In Situ aan de Koninklijke Academie voor Schone Kunsten in Antwerpen (student van Leon Vranken). Tijdens zijn Erasmusverblijf in Belgrado (2024) raakte hij sterk betrokken bij de stad en haar recente maatschappelijke spanningen, wat zijn blik op collectieven, beeldvorming en context heeft beïnvloed.
Voor LLS Paleis realiseert Basil Onsia een raamtekening (stempeldruk in acryl) van schapen die zich doorheen de dag anders laat lezen. Wat vast en eenduidig lijkt, verschuift mee met het veranderende licht en kantelt ongemerkt van betekenis. Ces gens-là bevat een suggestieve ondertoon waarbij in het midden gelaten wordt wie het commentaar formuleert.

Basil Onsia (°2004, Brussels) is a master’s student In Situ at the Royal Academy of Fine Arts in Antwerp (student of Leon Vranken). During his Erasmus stay in Belgrade (2024), he became engaged with the city and its recent social tensions, which influenced his perspective on collectives, image-making, and context.
For LLS Paleis, Basil Onsia realizes a window drawing (stamping in acrylic) depicting sheep, which can be read differently throughout the day. What appears fixed and unambiguous shifts with the changing light and subtly tilts in meaning. Ces gens-là carries a suggestive undertone, leaving open the question of who is formulating the commentary.
